Quick little post here about the work I’ll be doing on the Kingdom Death Parasite Queen base. I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do with the basing, and there honestly isn’t all that much room on her base for it anyway. After considering building it up a bit, I dug through the art from the rulebook to find some inspiration.
Spoilers for the Parasite Queen
The showdown takes place in an amphitheater. The art makes it look pretty spare and empty, which just wasn’t going to work for me. I remember outdoor amphitheaters at camp grounds from when I was growing up; covered in weeds and gravel with uncomfortable split-log seating, but you’d get to watch park rangers handling birds, snakes, rodents, and all sorts of critters. So I pulled from that memory and the book’s artwork, approximating some of the lines running through the Parasite Queen’s amphitheater floor.
So that’s where I’m at with this scenic base. Pretty simple for now, but more than just a flat surface. I’ll post updates as I get paint on it.
